About Us

Nurul Izzah Catering Sdn. Bhd. (NIC)is a family-owned company with the main business activity of providing catering services. Established in 2003 in Selangor, Malaysia, NIC caters to varieties of events including public and private functions as well as corporate events. NIC’s competitive advantage is its niche in Malay weddings; taking into deliberation the country’s Malay population which makes up 50.4% of the total estimated 28 million population (2012).

Situated at Kg. Tengah, Puchong neighbouring One City, USJ 23 and Putra Heights, Subang Jaya, Selangor, NIC boasts of its central operating space which comprises the office building, the central kitchen, the warehouse and the staff hostel. It also provides a venue for outdoor events, complete with beautiful landscape and canopy. This is the strategic way for NIC whereby it offers one-stop integrated services providing more than the typical catering service, but to also include the venue in their wedding packages for the benefits of their customers.

The Founder

Haji Haron Khamis, 57, is the Managing Director of Nurul Izzah Catering Sdn. Bhd. (NIC). He holds a Bachelor of Islamic Studies (1980) and Master of Education (1993), both from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM); Diploma in Special Education from STTI (1984); Diploma of the Qur’an (1996) from Darul Hikmah, Bangi, Selangor, Commercial Certificate Chef (2002), and Certificate of Restaurant & Catering (2003).

Haji Haron had served the Government for close to 23 years in the Ministry of Education, Malaysia. He had worked as a teacher, a lecturer; and as an officer at the Ministry of Education Malaysia and served as the Education Attaché (Overseas Student Advisor) for the Malaysian Student Department in Chicago, USA from 1996 to 1999. He returned to Malaysia and continued to serve the Ministry until 2003 when he took the optional retirement scheme.

During his tenure in the Government service, he had received the Distinguished Service Award from the Ministry of Education in1993 and 1997. Haji Haron also gained experience in the field of nutrition for more than 12 years.

While in Chicago, USA, in addition to serving as Education Attaché, he worked part-time for the JAKIM (Department of Islamic Development Malaysia) and IFANCA (Islamic Food and Nutrition Counsel of America) as Inspector of Halal products and made visits to factories that manufactured food products interested to export goods for Muslims either in the USA or exporting to Malaysia.

Since taking the optional retirement scheme, Haji Haron had moved from being a salaried employee into a full time entrepreneur involving in various businesses until finally focusing on his passion – the food and beverage (F & B) business –eventually establishing NIC.

Capacity

We are able to provide up to maximum of 20,000 – 25,000 pax per order, way beyond the industry average of approximately 5,000 pax per order.

F & B

We only use halal and fresh ingredients for the food that we offer to customers. Quality is given an emphasis right from the preparation stage until the delivery of food to customers.

Facilities

We have a dedicated one-acre Bridal Site (Laman Pengantin), which provides venue, food catering, attendants and servers and sound system – all in one roof. We have our own transportation fleet adequate to meet customers’ orders.

Human Capital

Our team consists of experienced Chefs and Assistants expert in their fields and a pool of trained attendants and servers to accommodate to customers’ needs.
